INTRODUCTION:

In 1985, GNFC as a part of their social obligation established an education trust name “NARMADA EDUCATION & SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH SOCIETY (NEST)”.

NEST has a wider vision to support the need of society and industries of surrounding region of Bharuch. Bharuch and its out skirt is a cluster of chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemicals and pesticides industries. Most of the industries are engaged with huge man-power in manufacturing, handling and transportation of hazardous chemicals with advanced and high competitive technology.

The rapid changes in technology and complexity in operation generate high expectation with respect to quality of product and parallel maintaining high standards of safety and environment and overall sustainability to pace with global market, forces the management to have a day without any man, material or machine loss. Moreover, to comply stringent legislations like Factory Act, Gujarat Factory Rules, 1963, MSIHC Rules and Environment Protection Act and to follow the norms of Gujarat Pollution Control Board, these courses becomes essential. Apart from this when most of the industries have been following their business activities as per ISO:9002, ISO:14001 and ISO:45001, when technology is changed to recycle and recovery, all these issues are to be properly addressed at top managerial level which demands developments to have (1) well qualified Safety professionals and (2) Environment Engineers.
